I strongly urge each of you to learn about the fair tax, if you've never heard of it. In short it replaces all federal taxes and payroll taxes with a simple consumption tax.

Recently I asked myself why the same principles could not be applied at the state, county and city levels of government. I see no reason that it could not be done.

I'm curious what others might think of this idea.

Shouldn't we expect ALL candidates to support the Fair Tax? Why can't we have a Alabama Fair Tax?

Rob, the CP doesn't support the Fair Tax.

Be sure to take a look at our platform on the party website: http://www.cpalabama....

"I can balance the Federal Budget by noon on the first day of my administration, then go to lunch. When we strike out of the budget all items that are not constitutional, the budget balances. And then you don't need a Marxist tax on income." Howard Phillips founded of the Constitution Party.

My believe all taxes on income are illegal according to our Constitution.

There are only two ways to balance the budget. The first is for government to find more money (credit from India or China, 24 hours printing presses)

The second thing is they can reduce their spending. End the FED, reduce the size and scope of government. Defund and Cutoff all unconstitutional programs.

I am sorry but I do not trust our legislators with a Fair tax , Flat tax or a national sales tax.
